Nobu Masuda

In August 2016, Mr. Masuda was named Chief Executive Officer of Standard Steel, LLC. Mr. Masuda started his career with the parent company, Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metals Corporation, formerly, Sumitomo Metals Industries in April 1981. Since 1981, he has held various positions within the company both in Japan and in the United States. His experience within the company spreads many business units supporting multiple product lines. Most recently, Mr. Masuda was the Chief Executive Officer at International Crankshaft, Inc. located in Kentucky. Mr. Masuda earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Keio University located in Tokyo, Japan. Additionally, Mr. Masuda earned an MBA at the Tulane University A.B. Freeman School of Business Administration.

John M. Hilton

Mr. Hilton was promoted to his current position in January 2016. Mr. Hilton had served as Senior Vice President – Sales & Operations since July 2001.  Prior to that, he was employed as Vice President – Sales since September 1993.  He joined the Company in 1979 as an Operations Foreman and has held various sales and marketing positions prior to 1993.  He was employed by Bally Engineered Structures in their marketing and commercial departments from 1984 through 1987 prior to joining the Company.  Mr. Hilton is a graduate of Susquehanna University.

Cameron P. Lonsdale

Mr. Lonsdale rejoined Standard Steel in January 2015 following 7 years as VP-Research & Development for Amsted Rail. From 1998-2008 he was Technical Manager Railway Products and VP - Technical for Standard Steel. He also worked for Conrail in Engineering, Sales and Marketing, and Transportation for more than 10 years. Mr. Lonsdale holds a B.S. in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Texas at El Paso, an M.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from Case Western Reserve University, and an MBA from Saint Francis University (PA). He has authored or co-authored more than 100 technical papers and presentations on railroad industry subjects including wheel and axle manufacturing and performance, and rail welding. Mr. Lonsdale was the 2008-2009 Chairman of the ASME Rail Transportation Division, is a former member of the AAR Heavy Axle Load Engineering Research Committee (HALERC), and is a current member of the AAR Wheels, Axles, Bearings and Lubrication (WABL) Committee.

Craig J. Kaniecki

Mr. Kaniecki was promoted to his current position in April 2017.  Mr. Kaniecki served as the Vice President Finance since October 2012.  He joined the Company in 2012 as Controller. Prior to joining the Standard Steel team, Mr. Kaniecki served in management functions at StarKist Co. in Pittsburgh as both Manager of Financial Reporting and Procurement Manager. Prior to StarKist, Mr. Kaniecki was an assurance auditor at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Pittsburgh where he served both public and private clients. Mr. Kaniecki received his BSBA in Accounting from the University of Pittsburgh. Mr. Kaniecki earned an MBA at The Pennsylvania State University’s Smeal College of Business Administration and is a Certified Public Accountant.

 

Shinichiro "Shawn" Hiramatsu

Mr. Hiramatsu was appointed to this position in January 2015. Mr. Hiramatsu joined Standard Steel in July 2013 from Nippon Steel and Sumitomo Metal Corporation (NSSMC) - Japan, where he had been employed since 1994. Mr. Hiramatsu held various positions within the Engineering Department for the Railway Products, Automotive Parts and Equipment for Steel Making Division, including his most recent assignment as Senior Manager of Railway Wheel & Axle Designing Department in Osaka Steel Works of NSSMC (2005-2013). Mr. Hiramatsu earned his Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from Osaka University.

John F. Cummings

Mr. Cummings has served as Senior Vice President – Manufacturing since November 2003.  Prior to that, he was employed as Plant Manager of the Standard Steel-Latrobe, PA plant since 1996.  Mr. Cummings began his career with Edgewater Steel in 1981, and served as Vice President of Operations from 1995 to 1996.   He is a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University.

Michael K. Petroski

Mr. Petroski was appointed to this position in February 2017.  His extensive experience with the company (since 1990) in various management positions in sales, production control, transportation and manufacturing provides him the knowledge and ability to coordinate and streamline production and inventory management.  Under his direction are the Company’s Production Planning, Procurement and Inventory Control departments. Prior to Standard Steel, Mr. Petroski held various sales and management positions for Schult Homes and Coachmen Industries (both Marlette Divisions). Mr. Petroski received his B.S. degree in Commerce & Finance from Wilkes College, Wilkes Barre, PA. He also received an A.A.S. degree in Business Administration from Luzerne County Community College, PA.

Justin Gutting

Mr. Gutting joined Standard Steel in March 2016, as Controller. He was promoted to Vice President – Finance in February 2017.  Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Gutting served in Financial Reporting and Financial Analysis management positions at RTI International Metals, Inc., in Pittsburgh, PA, which was acquired by Alcoa, Inc., in July 2015, and  as an accountant for Universal Stainless and Alloy Products, in Bridgeville, PA.  Mr. Gutting began his career as an assurance auditor at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Pittsburgh, serving a variety of public and private clients. Mr. Gutting is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Thomas J. Impellitteri

Mr. Impellitteri started his career with Standard Steel as the Manager for Production Planning in January of 2014 following a 21 year career as an Officer in the United States Marine Corps.  He was promoted to Director – Operations Planning in July 2016 and subsequently promoted to Vice President – Operations / General Manager – Axle Manufacturing in February 2017.  Mr. Impellitteri earned a B.A. in Communications from The Pennsylvania State University and earned his MBA from The Pennsylvania State University’s Smeal College of Business with a dual concentration in Strategic Leadership and Supply Chain Operations.

Martin R. Ehrenzeller

Mr. Ehrenzeller started his career with Standard Steel in May 2013, as an Industrial Engineer.  He was promoted to Director – Quality in February 2017 after serving as Manager – Process & Industrial Engineering.  Prior to joining the Standard Steel team, Mr. Ehrenzeller was employed in the engineering field for the past 15 years at companies including JLG Industries, Case New Holland, and Ames True Temper.  He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Pennsylvania State University.

Jon Kugler

Mr. Kugler joined Standard Steel, LLC, in January, 2017, as Director, Human Resources. He brings more than 20 years of Human Resources experience in large, mid-size and small organizations. His experience includes various Human Resources positions with PH Glatfelter Paper, General Dynamics OTS-Division, and NCR. Mr. Kugler is also a 13 year US Army veteran. Mr. Kugler earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Labor Relations from Penn State University and a MBA from Walden University. In addition, Mr. Kugler also serves as a Senior Professional Instructor for Penn State University.

Trevor W. Smith

In October 2016, Mr. Smith was named Strategic Director of Procurement of Standard Steel, LLC. Mr. Smith started his career with Avery Dennison, where he held various roles over his 14 year career, ending with his role as a Senior Procurement Manager. As a Senior Procurement Manager, Mr. Smith was in charge of creating a global distribution strategy for Avery Dennison Worldwide. Prior to joining Standard Steel, LLC. Mr. Smith held the position of Plant Manager for United Chemical, LLC. Mr. Smith obtained a B.S. in Business Management from the Smeal College at The Pennsylvania State University. Mr. Smith then obtained his MBA in Supply Chain Management from Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts.
